I came pretty close to completely scrapping this episode and not releasing it outside Patreon. A knowledgeable patron had some technical notes, which made me realize that the already hard-to-follow info I present is not super accurate in places...
Too boring to explain, but basically, the general process of an alpha-over operation I describe differs from the way it's implemented...

Even though post-production took long, the actual shoot with ATARASHII GAKKO was done in a single 10-hour day. We had to move fast and not goof around too much.
