Can you guys take a guess as to what in the world is going on? In the novel, not much about this really told except a simple analogy made by Arthur. I wanted to go off on that in the beginning of Chapter 6 though.

Her expression was a little tricky to get down, despite the commonality of characters like her in animes and other comics. Next chapter update, Chapter 6, is the introduction of all of the Twin Horns so I hope you'll enjoy!

Ah, the charismatic leader of the Twin Horns after Reynolds stepped down.
It was hard portraying a charismatic face that was a good balance of pretty and handsome. A figure that both girls and boys want to emulate!

I have to say, it was kind of hard not to make Adam look like Renji (Bleach) haha. I had made Renji the base of Adam but tried to find different traits to make him unique!

One of the challenges that I had was learning how to make explaining theory of the world in picture form. To make it natural, scenes of Arthur opening a book were used as devices to push readers and "prep" them that they're going to be learning.
Besides that, though, much of the more nitty gritty theory had to--unfortunately--be cut down a little :(

As the main character of this novel and comic, let me tell you that I had to spend A LOT of time with the artist to get him as close to perfect as I thought he could get. This is some of the scrapped versions of Arthur!
You'll see him with a more innocent look, while some have more messy looks. Let me know what you think!

So for this week's rough draft of the comic, I thought I'd show you a draft of the map that I've been working off of for the world.
I know a lot of it is incomplete but it was used for the comic, which will be rendered and shown around episode 2!
The overly-affectionate Miss Angela Rose. Color scheme and wardrobe were a bit hard to choose since I wanted her clothes to provide at least some sort of protection (or rather, ease of movement) without it being too provocative.

It's funny to think that I had to buy a tablet for the sole sake of editing. This is one of the drafts that my storyboard artist would send me to take make sure that the perspective, expressions, effects are all roughly in line with what I wanted.
I would mark inside these panels with a red pen (digital pen) and make necessary changes and hand it back. A lot of back and forth happen...

So working with an artist involves a lot of changes that may seem minor but can totally change the feel of a character or scene. Helen Shard, augmenter/archer of the Twin Horns was originally drawn with a sort of off-centered part and more coy eyebrows. The changing the way her front hair was parted and straightening her eyebrows made the archer look coquettishly sly to dangerously charismatic....

So this is a deleted scene of the prologue for a reason that may be clear to some of you. While there's nothing wrong with a mother feeding her child breast milk, it was a bit "distracting". You can see how the details added in when colored only served to give potential readers a reason to do a double take. The breast was later omitted and kind of blended in with the background. Sorry ;)
