Extended postponement and pausing of billing
Added 2024-09-17 12:28:00 +0000 UTCHey all, this is sadly another update to inform you all that the postponement will unfortunately be extended.
To let you all understand a little better as to why it's taking so long:
I've essentially struggled with focusing on things most of my life and over the past year it's gotten a lot worse. It's gotten to the point where I'm eager and excited to finish work on something but I physically cannot get myself to actually begin. It's like writer's block but for just about everything related to the game.
I think the scope for this update is a very large reason why this is happening in the first place. Like I've already mentioned a couple times, I will never take on a scope this big for an update ever again, I've for sure learned my lesson.
This is all very frustrating for myself and I can imagine for you all as well. I've decided to pause the billing since I cannot stand to take all your pledges when the postponement has been going this long. I will resume it once I finish it, but if you pledged in August/September you'll still be able to get it for free by just sending me a message once it's out.
As always, thank you so so so much for sticking through this, I really do apologize.

In regards to your question, I do often think about making another update but what stops me from doing so is because I don't think it'd make a worthwhile update, if that makes sense. I can't really make a developer log since there's not that many big technical changes to really highlight. The only other thing is extra art or teaser images. Currently don't really have the time to work on extra art and I do have scenes I could tease but at the same time I feel like it would spoil a character's story. But anyway, I didn't want my latest update to sound as if I was taking a break, I have been working on the game every single day, although a little slower in an attempt not to stress myself out. It's been working pretty well along with pausing the billing! In terms of what cycle I'm in, it's basically a combination of everything at the moment. I'm still writing and rendering scenes while also actively putting everything in the game at the same time and making sure it'll run without bugs. Appreciate you reaching out, hope you are doing well too! ❤️

I am sure you have felt bombarded with comments so feel free to disregard this if it is just another one to the pile. I was curious if there were any updates not really an eta but just what process in the cycle of the update are you working on? Just curious I did like the update you had that showed the scene and character process and was wondering if you would be open to do that in the future or if the juice is not worth the squeeze to put out information / graphics for you at this point. Hope you are doing well and still excited for what comes next with the project.

I too, struggle at times with dealing with everything life brings, helping others, and balancing the daily responsibilities versus taking a breath/ break when needed. From me personally, take as long as needed to rest, relax, recharge/refocus. Please do not worry about my pledge and changing any update timelines. Your amazing work is worth the wait. We all appreciate the gifts you grace us with. Most of all, YOU and your health, welfare, and happiness are most important above everything else going on. Wishing you love, light, support:-)

You may want to look into potentially getting diagnosed with ADHD? Once I did and I took medicine it’s like a night and day miracle difference for me! Just trying to help out!

2024-09-18 00:15:07 +0000 UTCIf you do end up with a diagnosis and start on meds, don't be afraid to experiment. Took me a few months to find the right combination of meds and dosage to get a comfortable baseline, one of my siblings is a few months in and still hasn't found their baseline. So I guess I'm just spreading the word that these things can take some trial and error. Who knew the brain was complicated???

Also heard from a number of people (including you now) that the medication actually does work, so hopefully soon. Thanks ❤️

I went through something in the last couple years that felt very similar and ended up getting diagnosed and medicated for ADHD which has changed my life for the better! Not certain that will be the right path for you as I don't know your life, but good to consider

I think smaller updates is a good approach, would be a shame to abandon this awesome game, because you loose interest from the pressure to bring out updates. I'm still very hyped for the update, but at the same time I hope you can focus more on the important things in your life in the future.
