Gods and Magic

I've been dropping God's names and domains throughout the book so far, but it might be nice to put them all in once place for the readers. Alas, Patreon doesn't let me just paste the table in... So for each God, I've got a name, a domain, a form of magic, and a lack.

Each God invented one of the types of magic. Some things that we might think of as magic don't actually count. Theurgy was already available to mortals before they went through this fad, and some things like Clerical magic came afterwards.

Back during the God wars, each God invented a type of magic and taught it to their followers. To their chagrin, the System then adapted and made each type available to everyone who met the criteria. This wasn't a total disaster - the concepts that each God values are embedded in the way the magic works, so by using that magic, you are in some way promoting the God's values. Still, they weren't happy.

Clerical magic was their second attempt, and using it is tied to worshipping the God. Before this, they didn't care so much about worship, but now worship is a way of training people to act in the way that the Gods prefer.

Finally, just for fun, the lack. When people swear by a god they swear by something they don't have. This is more in peoples imagination than any real failing, Gods are capable of whatever they want to be capable of.
