More of an unaccountable tyrants will be unaccountable tyrants thing? I've tried to establish that its bad, that (almost) everyone thinks its bad, but no one who thinks so can do anything about it (short of violent revolution). Remember that Kandis 'reforming' Aubert wasn't her idea, she was forced into it and gave it her best shot.

I do agree that him being a serial rapist is basically just quietly put aside as a boys will be boys thing

That was less not telling him and more considering 'wait, is he really a friend?' at the last minute. She's been through some difficult situations with him, it's difficult to not think of someone as a friend after that. Not impossible, as Aubert demonstrates. This isn't the end of Aubert's story, but I think I need some time for him to stew and grow into his role as a ruler before coming back to him.

Maybe I'll give them a goodbye scene to cover this? She doesn't have a book - most learn the skill from the profession (Kandis could do this, but she doesn't want to lose Phantasmal Artificer) Kandis could teach [Teach] to Janie (I think she will) but that just unlocks the skill, and Janie doesn't have any free skill points. She'd get some next level. Thats why Lundy will need a level as well - she spent all her skill points on [Apprentice] skills.

Still wish she’d kill the idiot. He’s practically a serial sexual abuser, and I highly doubt that’ll change, now he just has access to maids. Gross. He hasn’t changed, he simply was on a leash due to his father and her being in his way. Now both are gone, back to coercing women into sec using his higher stats, skills, and his position of power. If you intend for him to come off as changed or as not a rapist, at least in my opinion, you should rewrite/clarify some things. There was like one talk where she put him in his place and “educated” him on “respecting women.” Highly doubt that changed him and if it did it was poorly conveyed. She basically gave him 1 talking too, and then him using his power to abuse women faded away, and she even considered him a friend, even tho she wouldn’t tell him straight up. Just weird.

One thing though is that I was really hoping for her to get Janie to teach her fire magic. While she might not have the Teach skill she probably has some spellbook somewhere, or maybe can create them? unsure how it works.
