Dear X ep08 Reaction!

There was a big twist, and you could see her really caring for Halmeoni. Now the question is... would she have stayed with the actor and continued a relationship with him just to stay with Halmeoni? She DID seem like she was happy, but she was able to drop him pretty easily. She might have had some inner conflict but it looked more like she expected him to be stronger but since he couldn't handle it she called him weak. It's so complex! And yeah we saw there was a drop in the ratings and it seems like that's probably why if it switches from the webtoon story to something different. 4 Episodes!!! As for what's next, we are really REALLY wanting to react to "Can This Love Be Translated" when it comes out on Jan. 16th. So we might do a movie or a short series after Dear X is finished. The Manipulated will probably come after Dynamite Kiss or it'll be added to a poll with other dramas. We really want to still react to it.

Your theory #2 is interesting and wild. I never looked at it from that perspective. It is indeed something to be considered.

Annyeong! This was easily one of the most pivotal episodes of the drama—so much unfolded, and we were finally given a glimpse into a hidden layer of Baek Ah-jin’s already complex character. This episode strongly suggested that somewhere beneath her ASPD-dominated exterior, there exists a trace of something resembling a “normal” human conscience—if such a thing is even possible in her case. We learned that she’s been conditioned to be defensive whenever someone shows her kindness, having grown up believing that niceties—especially from figures like her stepmother—are never to be trusted. And yet, despite all of that, she let her guard down with Halmeoni, as we saw in the previous episode. Her interactions with Halmeoni in her final moments felt like her most authentic self. There was no manipulation, no performance—just Ah-jin and her real self. When Halmeoni was in surgery, Ah-jin was truly worried; the subtitles may have glitched there, but she was saying, “Please let her live.” That moment, along with her inner conflict following In-gang’s death, revealed cracks in the armor she works so hard to maintain. The ending of this episode feels like a major turning point, much like the end of episode 4. From here on, the drama begins to diverge sharply from the webtoon’s storyline (personally I liked the webtoon version more, but many liked the drama version.) With only four episodes left, I’m curious—will you be posting a new poll for the next drama, or will you be reacting to The Manipulated next?

I want to believe that unfortunately ingang took his own life. But i also speculate that ingang was murdered as well. Like him being shown to dump his pills and alcohol can be shown to be a sign of two different things: 1. Is him contemplating taking his own life while cleaning up and him himself hoping to change his mind in the end. (Because they do say that’s what some people who are suicidal do in real life before they finalize their decision). 2. He was really trying to start anew but someone involved with ahjin on the sidelines we aren’t aware of took his life and made it look like a suicide.
