NameGiver Saga: Space Pirates (Notes)

Prologue:

a young Aralukia is studying with her zenthi teacher, she is learning about politics and the relationship between the empire and the council. The lesson is interrupted by her father returning from his latest crusade, he gives her gifts and lets her climb up on his shoulder, they look up at the inhabited moons visible at night, and he proclaims that she will one day rule over them all…

Chapter 1

Introduce characters Jas, Xant, their bond and mission, the pirates, council runaways, humans and their journey to the pirate planet.

Chapter 2

There is still conflict between all the parties (involving an earworm song), humans with translators have to keep playing diplomacy amongst everyone. We learn that something is ‘up’ with the puppies. Introduce the dogs, puppies and xant figuring out what must have happened. The conclusion is that the humans need translators immediately.

Chapter 3

Aralukia, requests a meeting with Jasmine and her entourage, to discuss their relationship aboard the rajavan vessel and how to act accordingly aboard the station. Each one gets a moment to speak and say their piece, Aralukia warns them not to step on her toes. The humans agree but are a little disgruntled by her approach.

Chapter 4

Xant is beginning to get recurring nightmares of his battle with ‘The Lady’. They explore more of the ship and find more pods/stolen human tech. Discuss the humans left behind on Lukia and how much this would help them. Decide to leave the current pods sleeping until they either a) have translators waiting for them or b) are planetside so waking up with so many aliens won't come as such a shock

Chapter 5

They approach the pirate station, lore dumped about the place the procedures and what to expect. Aralukia chooses who comes aboard, most of Jasmine's entourage make the list, plus a non-translator human and dog. They are welcomed to the station and are shown around.

Chapter 6

They meet with the doctors who can create the translators and they make a deal, human capable translators in exchange for goods. Xant learns how to make these translators and the human is given theirs. The integration is as smooth as to be expected. They inquire about more power armour as well.

Chapter 7

They go shopping aboard the station, causing a bit of a ruckus in the process. They get some cool weapons and alien tech, some aliens jump Aralukia humans and the admiral are separated. Jasmine tries to fight back but the newly translator-installed human is too vulnerable, they lose track of her in the fight.

Chapter 8

the humans lead a shakedown of the station and demand that Aralukia be returned. Xant comes up with a plan to smoke out the captors being hidden by the corrupt ‘security force’ of the station, it really is more dangerous out in pirate space and they almost get captured themselves while figuring out where Aralukia is. Before the plan is put into motion they get back up.

Chapter 9

Aralukia is tortured by her captors, taunted that the humans would take her ship and leave her for dust. This is not the case of course, as the torture session is broken up by an earworm song being played on the public commns, it drives the kidnappers insane but Aralukia is strong enough to withstand it thanks to her exposure to humans. The captors break the music box, causing Jasmine to falter but aralukias brute strength gets them through.

Chapter 10

Aralukia is returned, she and the humans have an understanding about each other. They get their shit from the station and threaten to vaporise anyone who tries to follow. Aralukia admits it's nice to have people who can think for themselves and who can look after themselves on board. She vents a little about being on guard and having to micromanage everyone.

Chapter 11

When they return to the ship, the humans are offered the translator, the good, the bad and the ugly side of it. They argue for and against it but let the humans know, it is completely their choice to undergo the surgery. Some accept, some don't, and how this affects everything going forward. Xant and Itsuki speak with Letu, the old warrior is recovering nicely. Subtle hints of Xants humanity slip through

Chapter 12

They find themselves at Lukia, their return, the pirate underground city and the human settlement above.
