Trigon 6 Multisamples (WaveShaper Tier)
Added 2023-01-21 14:44:06 +0000 UTCDear WaveShapers!
Attached are 17 multi-sample instruments - sampled from Trigon 6, as per the previous batch of Third Wave, so you can have a taste of playing this synth at home and in your projects!
Some of these are a bit bigger than last time because when relevant I sampled two or three velocity layers.
I've attached a PDF walkthrough of how to use them.
A quick recap: I’ve decided to "standardize" on the MPC Keygroup format when sharing instruments with you going forward for a few reasons:
- Its player, the MPC Beats software, is free
- It’s cross-platform - PC and Mac, though not on iOS, and of course is playable on Akai’s MPC/Force hardware instruments
- It can be used as a plug-in inside a DAW
- It uses open WAV files, so you can easily just take the source samples and import them into the multisample player of your choice, software (Kontakt, Decent Sampler, Logic, etc) or hardware (Maschine, Blackbox, Zenology/Fantom, etc).
- It's fairly easy to sculpt the sound to your taste with effects, envelopes and LFOs without additional plugins
As always thanks for your support and I hope you enjoy these!

2023-02-02 17:47:38 +0000 UTCOK cool Reaper and Bitwig support multisamples for sure. If I'm not mistaken at the very least Bitwig should also auto detect and place them using the file name (but I've not tried it, I don't have a copy)
2023-01-23 09:04:07 +0000 UTCReaper -- on my Macs and on the Linux system I'm building. Not fully open and not quite free, but huge community resources and a one time $60 is the most reasonable license out there. Also now working with Bitwig Studio -- a usable basic version came with my Linnstrument, and I've now paid for the full version because they also support Linux and provided access to slightly older versions for my Macs. Bitwig is also a central developer for CLAP (CLever Audio Plug-in API), an open source and liberally licensed API that may offer rapid feature and function improvements over the propreitary VST architecture. My music software requirements are MPE/Midi 2.0 support and local install ownership licensing (: just say no to subscription software and vertical video :). I'm semi-retired now, and plan to make music creation, alongside open music & media software programming, the avocations whatever decades I stay in this side of the universe. Very happy to be here and to be supporting your gifts for education and exploration, and I expect your work will be an essential resource for my intentions.

2023-01-23 08:15:23 +0000 UTCI'm not aware of how to get an old copy of MPC Beats (not sure it was even out when High Sierra was current). I don't know which DAWs are available for Linux but it's a high likelihood they support multisamples because it's a pretty basic feature. What are you using?
2023-01-23 07:49:59 +0000 UTCI like your decision to roll with MPC Beats as a free, dual platform tool and am wanting to try it out, but the OSX plateau on my music Macs is 10.13 High Sierra. Current Beats needs 10.15 Catalina. Any leads on where to get slightly older releases of Beats? Any knowledge of functional & comparable FLOSS or Linux solutions? (I'm in process of migrating to all Linux and stepping off the forced upgrade treadmill)

2023-01-22 19:57:25 +0000 UTCha it was a bit tedious but to me it's like a typo, had I noticed it I would have done it anyway when I was making the samples
2023-01-22 05:48:39 +0000 UTCThank you for chopping them! I hope it was not too much work.

2023-01-22 02:31:20 +0000 UTCGreat - my pleasure!
2023-01-21 21:22:27 +0000 UTCIt did and it worked. Sometimes it's the obvious things. Thanks for the instruments!
2023-01-21 21:06:07 +0000 UTCThanks for pointing this out, yes, this is compensated for in the software, but for the sake of everyone who wants to use these samples outside of MPC, I've reuploaded the whole sample set with the gap chopped out (I didn't notice this because the samples worked fine for me as I was creating them in MPC...). So, you're fine as is, but if you want the chopped samples just download again. Thanks again!
2023-01-21 21:00:36 +0000 UTCHmm I just tested the MPC Beats in Live and it works fine. It's really hard to troubleshoot setups remotely, but generally speaking, MPC Beats in Live as far as I know (and I didn't use it at all that way other than this test) doesn't "see" the keyboard, rather, you need to make sure Ableton Live is routing Keylab 61 to the track the MPC Beats is on (which should work by default). So basically I guess what I'm saying is this is an Ableton Live setup issue, not an MPC Beats setup issue. Hope this makes sense?
2023-01-21 20:58:21 +0000 UTCThe samples I checked out have a non-insignificant gap in front of them. Is this gap compensated for in the MPC Beats software?
