The samples from Erica Synths' Perkons HD-01 were some of the most used in my Superbooth 2021 competition. Now I have it hands-on for a test to see what the finished instrument looks and feels like - here are the results!

The interface is unsurprisingly refreshing - having dedicated sound design and sequencing controls for each of the voices is obviously better than not. But, Perkons isn't cheap - hence as usual, the detailed exploration of what it can and can't do.

BONUS CONTENT #1: Attached

Attached to this post are the outro track/jam (made longer as some have requested...), and a cheatsheet with all of Perkon's shift/key combos. Ideally, the manual would have a page like this, but it doesn't, so if you have one or plan to get one, you'll find these helpful.

BONUS CONTENT #2: Sample pack

As I was exploring Perkons I started saving kits with sounds that I thought were special, and it kind of ballooned into quite a massive collection with over 200 sounds(!). I started chopping them up, normalizing, etc and saw that it would take me way too long to finish and I kind of want to share the video already....  hence this post.

Since I have quite a bit planned for September and I saw that preparing the samples was going to cut into some of the time I allocate for WaveShaper book updates, I'll split the samples I share into two and keep a more or less 1:4 ratio between samples I share with the $1 Modulator tier, so you get a nice taste of the machine, and the $4 Waveshaper tier, which will get all 200+ samples.
