Hi!
A couple of months ago Julia Bondar uploaded a 90-minute live techno performance, and I was thoroughly impressed with how she pulled off a non-stop, multi-song set with a relatively compact Eurorack setup. I invited her to the "show" - and she agreed to walk us through her setup and process in detail, and thus we now have chapter 3 of the Synth Setup Tips series!
I still have mixed feelings about premieres - but if there's a guest involved that can join in for the chat - hopefully, it's worth the annoyance of being notified of something and not being able to watch it immediately, so if you're interested, set your alarm clocks for 11am PST / 2pm EST / 1900 UK / 2000 EU today!
(time edited to correct for a jump in the YouTube space time continuum, or scheduling error, one of the two)
Side note: Julia is a co-founder at Endorphin.es (also disclosed at the beginning of the video). About a year ago they contacted me and asked if I'd like to review their Ground Control sequencer when it comes out. Naturally, I said yes because it seems interesting.
I don't have it yet but it's coming soon, and it seems to be a close competitor to the Beat Step Pro (in module format, but still). Anyway, I thought I'd mention it for two reasons, first, to re-iterate that reviews are never paid (nor is this video of course), but also to say how cool it was of her to walk us through a setup with a workflow that has been refined over time, despite the fact that it uses a "brain" that competes with a product they're about to come out with soon.
Would love for you to join us!
Ziv (soon premiering on youtube as "Loopop"...)
PS It's quite a long video - over an hour - I still think it's very much worth the watch, but I will of course extract any non setup-specific tips not already present in my book and add them to the next update
