Hi there!
Even if you're not interested in modular synths, I highly recommend getting acquainted with VCV Rack. lt may help you get a new perspective on "regular" non-modular synths and music production, and even if you're solely working within a DAW, VCV Rack may inspire you to use native tools like Reaktor and Max for Live within your production.
In this book update, I wanted, among other, to explain how to create "binaural" patches inspired by UDO's Super 6. This idea can be implemented in any DAW and most grooveboxes, not just with modular synths.
I could have just drawn it in a block diagram, but rather, I used VCV Rack to walk through the patch. This helps dive in a little deeper, it's a way for me to test an explanation to make sure it "works" properly, plus, you can't download and play a diagram, whereas you can download this patch and actually hear what I'm talking about. All the examples use free modules.
Way better than just a diagram and audio sample I hope you agree!
Here's a summary of everything that's new in this update - as always, search for the string FEB2021 to jump between the updates:
The expanded filter tracking page was added in response to a question by a Patron - if there are topics you'd like me to expand upon in the book please feel free to comment below or just send me a personal message.
Thanks for your support and all my best!
