Circuit TRACKS Review + EXCLUSIVE template for playing melodies with samples

Hi!

The first half of the leaked new Circuit duo is here: Circuit Tracks.

Unlike Circuit Rhythm, which from the leaks seems like a different instrument, Circuit Tracks is more like a "Circuit MK2" - it has the same internal engine, but a lot is new and improved. More details in my video.

Since Circuit Tracks (still!) doesn't let you play or sequence samples melodically, I figured it would only be appropriate if I recreated my "Playing melodies with samples template MK2" for it - the little trick that was one of the first "hacks" I shared on the channel.

Attached to this post is everything you need - it's a project file that has two patterns:

  1. Drum 4, Pattern 1: The upper octave and a half in a chromatic scale
  2. Drum 4, Pattern 2: The bottom two octaves in a chromatic scale (note tuning in the bottom octave is somewhat hit and miss in the very low notes)

Patterns now have 32 steps, so to page through a pattern to swap octaves.

You can use these patterns to play samples melodically when in Velocity or Gate views, or just copy the notes from the patterns to the places where you want them to play.

I'll be adding plenty more circuit-specific (and general) tips to the upcoming book update - so stay tuned for that!

All my best,

Ziv (still playing melodies with samples on Circuit after all this time on YouTube as "Loopop"...)

PS Here are step by step instructions for adding my NCS project to your pack:

1. Download the Pack from your Circuit Tracks to Novation Components - if you just want to add my Project to an existing one

2. In Components, choose the PROJECTS tab

3. Choose an empty project

4. Click UPLOAD and choose the NCS file attached to this post

5. Click "SEND TO CIRCUIT TRACKS" and choose "SEND PROJECTS", then choose the Pack you want to send this to

Thanks very much for joining! Sorry it has been a while since this review and because of the nature of the channel I move on to the next shiny thing, so I didn't use it much since - sorry I'd need to watch my own video to refresh my memory...

Hi. Big fan of your channel, became a Patreon for the Circuit Tracks content. It doesn't disappoint. I have a question tho. With tho OG you had two tracks in parallel. Tracks doesn't do that. This makes copying the notes you want to the spot you want it to be much harder, because you have no easy way to copy notes between patterns. Is this your experience too, or are there smart ways around this?

OK thanks for letting me know!

Never mind, I re-read the above posts and understand that you can't record the notes live, but only copy and paste them.
