June 2020 Book Update

Hey there!

I hope you are all well! First, I'd like to thank and welcome all the new WaveShapers, and of course double thanks to all of you that keep supporting the channel month over month.

To the newcomers: I don't take money from companies for reviews, and while some companies send review units over and some stay, there are often cases where I end up paying either taxes, fees, discounted prices, or full price. Your support is what makes this channel possible, so how cool is that :)

OK, back to the book update... sometimes the update is a big new chapter, sometimes is a few small tips scattered throughout, this time it's both...

As usual, a quick search for the string “<NEW (JUN)” will take you from update to update.

Here's what's new/added:

-- I substantially expanded the generative chapter with new ideas and tricks based on yesterday's "Analog RAM" video and more, including:

• Using Euclidean sequencers as generative tools.

• Building a DIY inspiration machine

• A method for randomizing and storing melodies and rhythms using a few simple modules (this was also added as a trick to the Sample and Hold chapter).

• Using attenuators and offsets as generative and performance tools.

-- Added new chapter about switches - the VCV Rack patch described in that chapter is attached.

-- Added multiple delay timing recipes and an advanced delay tools paragraph with Logic’s Delay Designer.

-- A couple of Mac/iOS apps were added to the MPE controllers section

-- New anti-ground loop tip added (using a USB splitter)

-- All the new downloads were added to the sample pack and video downloads section.

There are plenty of things coming, but if there are topics or gear you'd like me to cover please let me know!

Thanks and all my best,

Ziv (waving my hands in over synths on youtube as "Loopop"...)

Thanks for the comment and for joining - welcome!

Figured I had asked enough questions on facebook that I should help you back and get on Patreon. Your book is a gift for those like me who aren't fully familiar with the terms. Thank you!

Thanks very much! Glad you like it, and noted re VCV - pretty much anything can be done there!

I bought a KS Pro on the back of your video, and I love it. I still keep going back to it to get further tips, or to revisit things I thought I'd grasped but hadn't. You are a born teacher, like Omri, and I watch your videos on things I will not ever buy just for the nuggets of wisdom or knowledge applicable elsewhere. Thank you, and more VCV if you can, please. I really loved the 'Analog RAM' video. Or perhaps Voltage Modular? I'm not able to go fully modular, so I love the software stuff. Thanks for the fun you bring into my life!
