Hydrasynths vs the world (+outro download)

Hi there!

OK, with the contest fun and excitement over, quite a few things have been piling up as I was listening to playlist tracks, so expect a slightly busier than usual November.

And it starts with two new versions of Hydrasynth - Explorer and Deluxe. I had a look at my old review and it stands the test of time quite well, except for a few complaints I had that were addressed in firmware updates, so I spend most of my time in this video going through a "mega vs" list, including all the different Hydras, and a long list of other synths I was asked to compare them do.

The bottom line is Hydrasynths put up a good fight - the details are in the video, and the little intro/outro jam is attached to this post.

All my best,

Ziv (refereeing synth fights on youtube as "Loopop"...)

FYI, I thought anyone here might want to know this. I just purchased my Hydrasynth Desktop from Sweetwater, have had it only had it 3 days now. I discovered that it now ships with Presets Patches in all 5 Banks (A B C D E). There are not any Empty Banks. Also some seemed to be different than ones I heard and saw on several older tutorials on Youtube. I was curious about this and contacted Ashun Sound Machines Support and they confirmed this. Anyway this Synth is incredible, with 2 more Banks of presets I am just starting to experiment with them all before I start to create my own Presets. Here is their email response: Hello, Yes we have now included 2 more banks and updated the patches as well. Please use the patch manager if you would like to arrange banks differently . You can also refer to our YouTube channel for more videos on this. Kind regards, Support

Thanks and yes, glad they're listening

Great update. You could also mention that after a looooonnnng hiatus ASM finally fixed a lot of nasty bugs in the original Hydras with Firmware 1.5.3 and .4. For quite sone time I felt like on a dead horse with my Hydrasynth Keyboard. Good to see that ASM is still very active.
