September book update is here!

Hello Dear Waveshapers!

Here it is - the September Update to my ever growing book of Electronic Music Ideas Tips and Tricks.

There are a lot of new Waveshapers this month, so I wanted to give a brief reminder of why your support is critical for the channel:

• I do not accept money from manufacturers for reviews/tutorials/content. I did consider it at one time, but the whole point of getting viewer support on Patreon was to make sure my loyalty is always to you.
• Yes, I do accept discounts on gear or having gear sent over for review. I often end up paying import taxes and fees on these even if I don't pay for the actual instrument. More often than not a review will still cost me money.
• I have enough synths. Well, maybe not, but you get the idea. A manufacturer is welcome to have their gear back at the end of the review. I admit most don't take stuff back, in which case I don't sell an instrument, but rather keep it for future reference in case there are Patron questions, firmware updates, "vs" videos or just other interesting content opportunities. Ideally, just like Consumer Reports, all gear would be just bought straight out from a store, but that would make the costs of running this channel unsustainable at current Patreon/youtube ad revenue income levels. Just to make it clear, while I'd love to have 10x the Patreon supporters - what you give now is amazing and enough! 

OK... back to the order of the day: I got a lot of requests for a Eurorack for Beginners video, but unlike gear reviews, which are best made in video form, I felt like a document was better suited for this. A video would be more or less me reading this chapter out for 40 minutes with some b-roll... I may still do that... but I think this form is more accessible, and easier to look back and forth through as a reference, which is the whole point of this book.

The new Eurorack for Beginners chapter is on pages 72 thru 84.

Aside from that, I've added a couple of ground noise solution ideas - using a USB powered audio interface, and power brick or wall charger as ways to solve ground noise problems (Page 34).

I added a couple new options and “hacks” for converting MIDI TRS A to B (Page 39).

I've also moved the Hybrid Modular and MIDI to CV to MIDI chapters so that they appear after the Eurorack for Beginners chapter, so the book flows better, not to mention fixed a couple of embarrassing typos (please feel free to point more out...)
