Arturia Audiofuse vs. Studio vs. 8PRE: Buyer's guide and checklist for choosing an audio interface

Hi!

If you've ever wondered which features to look for in an audio interface, I've put together a comprehensive a list as possible in this video, and will, as expected, be adding this and more to the March book update.

I've been using AudioFuse from Arturia daily ever since I reviewed it over 2 years ago, and while it has its cons, the pros outweigh them as far as I'm concerned. The one thing that bothered me most was the small number of inputs.

So, while I don't review audio interfaces on the channel unless something is interesting about them (e.g., ES-8), since AudioFuse has been my daily driver, when Arturia offered that I check out their 8PRE and Audiofuse Studio, it was an offer I couldn't refuse.

I did my best to structure this video around features to look for in an audio interface, so hopefully, this will be useful to you even if you've got your eyes set on something else.

If you have any questions (or insights as to things I missed...) please let me know!

All my best,

Ziv

Not that I can recommend from first hand use sorry

Any recommendations for a compact 8x line -> ADAT? Ideally I'm hoping for something the same form factor as the original Audiofuse, but would allow 8 more synths to be attached.

Indeed, as I mention in the beginning of the video, in my view it's not about audio quality but rather the other "perks" - I'm sure there's a difference in quality at some point but it's not what will make anyone's music better overall :)

Certainly nice to see from a situational awareness perspective about what's out there. That said, and maybe it's because I'm not doing audio as a professional thing, but I can't seem to justify the cost I could, say, pick up a 3rd Gen Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 for a fraction of the cost of an Audiofuse. I use a 2nd Gen 2i4 for my audio workstation, and a 3rd Gen Scarlett solo essentially as a soundcard for the office, and both of them seem to be pretty clean.
