Polyend Tracker - review, tutorial and exclusive Patreon download

Hi!

Polyend has formally announced their Tracker, and sent over a beta unit for review.

While I had an Amiga and remember Tracker music very fondly, I've not used a Tracker since. So has Polyend's Tracker won me over?  I have to admit that while initially, it seems odd to make music on what looks like a spreadsheet, there are a few workflow ideas in it that won me over. It's fast, and worth a look.

Anyway, if you're interested, here's a 52 minute review and sound demo of this very different way of doing things.

All my best and stay safe!

Hi Petteri, I know the feeling! I haven't checked that and unfortunately my Tracker is packed away for now. If it was important for a buying decision I'd check for you... If it does mute the audio I would certainly ask Polyend to fix this in a firmware update. Let me know when you check this? Thanks by the way for your ongoing support!

@Loopop Hi, I'm biting my nails while waiting for my Tracker, but a question popped into my mind. I coudn't find an answer anywhere, so I hope this is ok. Suppose I fill all 8 channes with audio, let's say continuous drone. If I drop a midi instrument somewhere within to trigger external gear, will it mute the audio on that particular channel? I'm hoping to use the device as both a groovebox, and to sort of give a song mode for my eurorack.
