Vector Sequencer Review + Exclusive Patreon Video Download

Hi!

What makes a true modular sequencer? Most DAWs and sequencers live on a fixed grid. Whether it's beats, ppqns or a linear sequence of notes.

One of the most alluring aspects of Eurorack (and modular in general), in my opinion, is its innovative sequencers, where potentially every aspect of a note - its length, pitch, articulation, order and more, is subject to change, whether intentional, random or anywhere in between.

Vector Sequencer from Five12, while not without its flaws, embodies many of these concepts, and is an excellent playground for anyone willing to experiment with sequencing ideas that grid based sequencers just can't touch.

The combination of its sub sequencers (LFO sequences designed change the main sequence parameters), chance operations, and generative algorithms was a treat to explore, and hopefully will be useful to you if you're into such things.

I'll also summarize these in the upcoming book update in general terms and hopefully make them accessible and applicable to as many as possible environments.

Attached to this post is a Patreon exclusive download of the full jam video (the intro and outro combined without talking...).

As usual - thanks for your support!

All my best,

Ziv (sequencing sequences with sub sequencers on youtube as "Loopop"...)

I'm using the Beatstep pro clocking the ACL Sinfonion, this one really could work well in my setup.
