Hi!
Theoretically, I shouldn't be excited about this. And as Patrons, there's seemingly nothing new here for you either: I've offered downloads of these tracks in the past as companions to my videos.
And yet there is something here that is an important statement, at least as far as I'm concerned, which will hopefully resonate with you:
Tracks don't need to be something you meticulously refine and endlessly work at on a DAW's timeline.
Albums don't need to need to be an elusive thing you never get around to.
It's possible to generate a body of artistic work alongside your "day job", that ultimately, can and should be worthy of being called a "Track" and a group of tracks an "Album".
True, my day job has become the channel, but 90% of the time is spent learning instruments, filming videos, editing, etc. I'd say only about 10% is spent actually playing whatever is on my desk, which just might be the amount of time you might have to play with yours (hopefully you don't need to learn a new instrument every week!).
When YouTube approached me and said they're interested in an album for their library, I was initially hesitant. To me, my music was always little jams spent while learning an instrument. So... after making sure they knew that's what they were getting, I started the process of selecting the tracks, "upgrading" them in a few interesting ways, and (thanks to a budget from YouTube) sending them to professional mastering.
I took notes along the way, with quite a few ideas for going from a jam to a track and from a track to an album, which I'll share in a separate video in a few weeks.
Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy the music!
I posted the entire album in one go on my channel: https://youtu.be/_XjVX_ph0Ds
