BEHRINGER TD-3 Review, tutorial, vs TB-303, RE-303 and x0xb0x

Hello!

Well, this one almost needs no introduction... Behringer just announced the TD-3 - their clone (with improvements) of Roland's TB-303, and they sent one over a unit for review. As per usual: Behringer has no influence over my content, reviews are never paid, and they're welcome to have it back.

Analog 303 clones are no news - the original little plastic acid machines have been fetching such high prices in the used market that over the years a community of mods and clones has developed, including the DIN SYNC RE-303 replica and the souped-up open-source x0xb0x.

In this video I go over what's new, and thanks to help from my friends, compare it to an original TB-303, RE-303 and x0xbox.

Has Behringer done it right? Find out for yourself...

Enjoy!

Indeed I prefer people judge for themselves - to my ears the dinsync once sounded the most similar but who knows? I've not compared the others - TD-3 is close enough though IMHO

nice comparison. I got a td-3 too a year or so back, as I couldn't resist. from what my pretty PA damaged ears could make out the dinsync was actually closest to the TB303, the x0xb0x sounded very similar but there were one or two differences (decay or envelope? also some notes seemed to be cut shorter). I've played with all these clones, and a few others over the years (future retro, cyclone). and I've noticed the legendary difference between original TB303s with the ones some friends owned that were willing to spend that kind of money. but I never got to play them side-by-side. what was your personal impression? what came closest to the one you had to test? you didn't give a personal opinion about that, maybe on purpose, if so - sorry for asking. second question: did you compare other clones like the future retro, cyclone or the very widely used ABL Bass Line VST? Behringer released a modded-out version, too: the TD-3-MO (similar to the devilfish/some x0xb0x mods). it might make a nice 2nd comparison video with other clones/VSTs for acid-lovers :)

Hi Ronald, yes, I do want to get to it but realistically it will take at least a month - but I will!

I know this is off topic comment but I couldn't figure out how to message you anywhere else on patreon. Do you have a video for the Berenger Odyssey in the works? I just got mine the other day and one of your excellent videos would help me get the most out of this new synth. I am far from being a newbie and you always seem to find all the hidden gems on these new Behringer creations.
