Squarp Pyramid Comprehensive Sequencer Tutorial

Hi!

This week's video is a deep dive into Squarp's Pyramid, probably as close as you can get to a DAW in terms of features, but all condensed into a hardware based workflow. There's certainly a learning curve to it but once understood, this is one of the best and most capable.

As I hinted previously, my goal for the November update to my ebook is to include a "sequencer buyers guide" - with which features to look for and the ones I've reviewed that have it. The Deluge is coming out with a new firmware in a few weeks, so that's on my to do list... as well as Ableton - yeah, I know it's a DAW... but it's a capable sequencer and live looper too and is worth considering if you don't mind having a computer around. I'm going to try and simplify it as much as I can...

As usual but never taken for granted - thanks for your support and I'm happy to answer any questions about this!

Yes. Thank you. Ok so, chance/probability layers. Yes a new vid on Pyramid would be tops. Thanks

Hi Jason, because that specific topic is a bit niche I think there's a low probability (sorry, I couldn't avoid that joke) I'll make a dedicated video, but puns aside, I have a big new generative video in about a month that will explore Pyramid (and other) probabilities, randomness and chance. Until then, if I made that video here's what I'd say: Digitakt chance only deals with randomness in whether a step is played or not (i.e. triggering a note xx% of the time). That's it. Pyramid has that, but it also has a layer of randomness that CHANGES other parameters (note pitch, length, velocity), as well as a humanizer effect which moves notes around. Hope this helps?

Could you make a video comparing the Chance & Probability of the Pyramid & Digitak?
