Novation SL MkIII review + sequencing some plans for the future...

Hi!

Novation just announced the new version of their SL  controller - the SL MkIII and it's quite a departure from the previous versions with an added "brain" - an internal sequencer and arpeggiator, bigger screens and more, in addition to controlling external hardware and a DAW. Well worth a look if you're into those things.

This inspired me to re-examine other sequencers - in particular the Squarp Pyramid and Synthstrom Deluge. I've already reviewed them in the past, but both have had firmware updates - so over the coming weeks I'll take a second deeper look at them and put together a comprehensive sequencer buyer's guide for the November update to my e-book. The idea is to survey every important feature in the sequencer world so that you can use that as a checklist when planning a purchase.

Meanwhile I'm putting the finishing touches to the October update - stay tuned for that this weekend!

As usual, thanks very much for your support. It means a lot and is a big part of why I can continue to invest more both in the channel and in Patreon content.

Thanks!!!

Welcome to my Patreon! Aside from my video of course ;) I recommend the manual - a few things have changed, I know it's painful, but it pays to go through it. Good luck!

Hi! I just got one the Novation SL MkIII and I am wondering what is the best resource to learn how to use it. One simple thing I wanted to do is to be able to control multiple software instruments in Logic, but I can't seem to find a way to do that. I'm also new MIDI and electronic music, so lots to catch up and better get through your book asap!
