Murder & Mayhem Part Two: Arsonist

Today on the mayhem agenda….

Sometimes, a Sim just wants to watch the world burn. Sometimes they’d like to do this by literally burning down everything in sight. Such a beautiful sight, that warm, comforting glow… as it decimates your neighbor’s property and Sims run screaming in abject terror.

This is the second of a multiple-part mod created as a collaboration between myself and my best friend ShinoNox under the Project: Chaos Modding joint name (check out his other mods, he has some really cool stuff!). Our eventual goal is to create a pretty cohesive serial killing mod that covers many potential ways of putting other Sims out of your misery.

Part two brings Mayhem to your game in the form of an Arsonist, known in the true crime world as people who have a compulsion to set things on fire, whether it be the house down the street, a business, or even their own property. More coming soon in the near future, and further additions will have an early access period of 2 weeks for our patrons.

What this mod does:

Sims can now buy the Arsonist trait via the reward store for 2,000 points.
This trait will give them two new (non-autonomous) interactions:“Set on Fire” and
“Sabotage”
“Set on Fire” can be used on almost any object (or, you know, Sim) ingame and will - surprise - cause the object to start burning. Can not be used on toddlers, children, or pets… don’t even ask for it, we will just cringe at you.
“Sabotage” can be used on Smoke Alarms or Fire Sprinkler Boxes to make them non-functional and to ensure that the fire can spread unhindered by ceiling sprinklers or firemen.
Sims with the Arsonist trait will never be afraid of fire, react to fire by panicking, or autonomously extinguish a fire. Instead, they will be Happy about it and watch it burn and spread while laughing and cheering.
Please Note: By default, the game does not allow you start to fires on most community lots. If you wish to enable this possibility, we recommend using LeRoiDeTout's Fireproof Lot Trait Mod which has a settings toggle to enable fires to happen on public lots. Please read his post for instructions on how to do so.

For Maximum Mayhem - and with a lot of help from Kuttoe - we removed the restrictions for the “Set on Fire” interaction, so that it can be done while a Fire situation is already happening. Now your Arson-happy Sim can set fire after fire after fire after fire after fire…

Be warned: Trying to set fire to objects your Sim cannot reach may cause posture errors and result in a posture-related lastException error.

Installation:

Just drop these files into your Murder & Mayhem folder together with the Angel of Death mod, but make sure that it’s no more than one subfolder deep since this contains a script file.
