DIY Troubleshooting Library

I've been part of support teams on quite a few general and mod-specific Sims 4 support discord servers for a few years now, and as such I've been explaining basic troubleshooting steps to players very often. I've been planning for a while now to compile a DIY Troubleshooting Library that offers a few guides and explanations for general troubleshooting steps in (hopefully) easy to understand English, with pictures and little gifs of steps whenever necessary. This library is both meant to help the community troubleshoot their own games better, and to serve as a resource for our discord support server Sims After Dark.

Why do we need this?

Sometimes an error is not a quick "it's this mod" or "it's this game bug". Error files can be generic and without any valuable information, so a player needs to test Vanilla, or do a 50/50.

Sometimes a save is corrupted and we need to do a rollback.

Sometimes a folder refresh is necessary.

Sometimes there's a broken piece of CC that you just can't find.

But how do we do all this?

That's where the Library comes in.

This Library aims to offer detailed but easy to follow, written step-by-step guides with explaining pictures and gifs on the following topics:

(More guides may be added in the future.)

I am always looking for feedback!

If you think my guides are too complicated or don't explain specific parts well, or if you would like to see a guide on a different topic, or even if you simply think they're awesome and have helped you understand how to do something, I would be very happy to hear about it! You can leave a comment on the posts or contact me via Discord, either on the Sims After Dark server, or via DM. Thank you :)

These guides have been compiled by many people with long years of experience in doing support and helping players troubleshoot their games, sometimes even through trial and error. They may be written in my own words, but they are in no way my invention, and therefore

credits go to the whole Sims After Dark Team:

Isy, Kuttoe, LeRoiDeTout, moxhollow, Shino Nox, SimNes, our amazing friends and supporters mangoninja, Scarlet and TwistedMexi and all of our wonderful Banshees, who are tirelessly helping in our Support channels every day.

If you would like to join our wonderful Discord Server Sims After Dark to get help for your game or just to chat with us and our lovely community, share pictures of your Sims and talk about your stories, you can do so via this link: discord.gg/SimsAfterDark

We'd love to see you there!
