NC4T Pickpocketing Mod - Update & Changelog

Consequences Update 

You thought there were no consequences, did you?

Well, now there are:

• Your Teen and Child Sims will now get penalties on Manners, Responsibility and Empathy for each pickpocket interaction.
• For each failed pickpocketing attempt, every Sim will lose Relationship points with the Target Sim.
• Every Sim will lose Reputation points when being seen while pickpocketing, regardless of if the attempt was successful or failed.

Penalties are now adjustable via settings:

Doing this is pretty simple: upon loading this update for the first time, a NC4T folder with a Settings file will be created with default settings inside your saves folder:

You can open the NC4T_PickpocketingMod_Settings.cfg file with your standard text editor. To change the settings, simply put in new values as shown below. 

However, be careful to not change anything else inside the file (for example deleting a comma), or the settings won't work!

Valid Settings:

"e", "m", "h", or "o"

• for difficulty easy put in "e"
• for difficulty medium put in "m"
• for difficulty hard put in "h"
• to turn it off, put in "o"

Default Settings:

• Manners: medium  ("m")
• Responsibility: easy ("e")
• Empathy: medium ("m")
• Relationship loss: hard ("h")
• Reputation loss: hard ("h")

Note: if you would like to go back to default settings, you can just delete the settings file - a new file with default settings will be created for you the next time you start the game.

But wait, there's more!

Other changes:

• Sims will now have a slight chance to be seen by bystanders despite successfully pickpocketing, which causes them to receive penalties similar to the "Caught" penalties as if they had failed (they will still receive the money though).
• This chance gets smaller the higher the skill level and is non-existent on level 10.
• Sims with the traits Evil, Kleptomaniac, Mean, and Dastardly as well as Kuttoe's Oblivious or Insecure traits (from his New Emotional Traits mod) are being blacklisted from reacting to your thievery.
• Sims that catch your Sim pickpocketing for any reason will now have a "Thief!" speech bubble above their heads (as seen in the picture below).
• Added a few new strings and moodlets.

• A new cheat: I have added a command console cheat to remove the "Caught" restrictions without traveling to a different lot. To use it, open the command console and type in:

nc4t.pickpocket.uncaught

(note: for some reason the confirmation string only shows if All Cheats by TwistedMexi is installed, but the cheat itself works just fine without it as well)

• Some updates to the log: it now holds information about what settings are currently being applied as well as a small guide on how to change them and how to use the cheat.

A note on compatibility:

This mod is still Basegame compatible, even with all these pack-specific updates. If you don't have Parenthood (for the character values) or Get Famous (for reputation) installed, it will simply be ignored and should not affect your game at all.

The same is valid for the blacklisted traits, and you do not need Kuttoe's trait mod in order to use this mod either (although I can only strongly recommend it, it's awesome!)
