2020-02-28 23:08:17 +0000 UTCAnna: “If he looked like Kyle MacLachlan instead of Harvey Weinstein, these actresses would have had an easier time rationalizing the fact that they put themselves at considerable sexual risk for the promise of acting gigs that never materialized.” I don’t think an actress going to a 10 AM breakfast meeting (in McGowan’s case) inside of a presidential suite (not some tiny room with a bed), at the behest of her female manager, knew that they were about to be at “considerable sexual risk.” There’s this narrative going around that these women meet these men in seedy locations in the middle of the night, and it’s pretty much never that simple. Please look up more specifics on these individual cases because it might stop such misguided generalizations.
