2019-01-30 01:57:00 +0000 UTCYeah you should watch Apt Pupil, it somewhat undercuts the separation Anna rightly insists on between the alleged flair of Singer’s films for moral ambiguity and whatever he gets up to in his “personal life.” It’s a really muddled film about illicit fascination with the holocaust that feels somehow even darker and more shameful than its subject matter, and the overtones of whatever you call his fixation on boys are unmissable.
