I have just finished a very big and tedious job that has been postponed for a very long time.
The fact is that while creating a model and a rig of a character for the game, I was not yet aware of all the possible nuances of such a project. As a result, many small and unpleasant mistakes have crept in.
So what I did:
1. Completely new rig (before that I used one of the many authorigs). My rig is now much more streamlined and better suited for my purposes.
2. Some changes in UV, mesh, bone position, etc.
Nowadays it's MUCH easier for me to script animations in which I need to EXACTLY know the length of the arms and legs.
All this did not take too long. But apart from that, I had to update almost all of the content in the game.
This means that I transferred over 300 animations to the new skeleton. Even with scripts it took a lot of time. And the porting scripts weren't written by themselves :)
Most of the clothes and body parts had to be rigged with new ones. And some details - and to model in a new way.
Finally, redraw all the textures for the body. It's good that there weren't many of them (haha).
And the saddest thing is that all these changes in the game are very difficult to notice from the outside.
To make it less offensive, I added a few animations to the game from the wonderful Mixamo site. Now you can watch your character dance and choose different walk / rest animations for him.
Right now I am working on improving the materials and adding sound to the game. In short, enjoy :)
