Progress Report 4/6/25

Hey there, folks. Wanted to touch base and let you know how things are progressing. Outline is ongoing. Had to re-work some things that weren't meshing well with the tone I wanted, and I think I've got something a lot more satisfying and interesting compared to the initial idea. Basically, "what if she was even more bad-ass than she already is?" So we're doing that now. Can't way for everyone to meet her.

There was a bit of a lag with all of that as my life just took another 180 and I've had to reorganize the next couple of years of my life, all within the last couple of weeks and that was stressing me the fuck out.

I think I've mentioned before, but if I didn't, my day job is an ESL teacher in South Korea. I've been here for almost 20 years. I was unhappy with the salaries on offer for my many years of experience and was tired of the limitations of my work visa. So, about 6 or 7 months ago, I opted to relocate to China for the much higher pay. Since November of last year, that's what I've been gearing up to do.

At the end of March, I was preparing to switch off of my work visa to a different one here in Korea that would let me chill until my planned departure to China in the summer, when I found out that I might actually qualify for a Korean residency visa. And, as it turns out, I did! This required multiple trips to the local immigration office, tax office, and print shop, but--after nearly three weeks of back and forth, I got the message a few days ago that my residency visa has been approved. So there's that.

I never wanted to go to China, but my non-residency visa was too restrictive to let me make more money. But this new visa opens up all kinds of new opportunities that I didn't have even a month ago. So, just like that, I've decided to scrap all plans of China and refocus my efforts back on Korea. The goal is to get a new job now, work for about a year or so, then open up a bar. I'm a little bit tired of teaching and would like to do something else.

Other thing is the Discord. Turns out, setting that up so it's not overrun with spam bots and all that nonsense is kind of a pain in the ass. I'm at the point now where I'm ready to pay someone to do it because I've been too scattered with all the will-I-stay-or-will-I-go nonsense to figure out how to set all that up. Before I do that, though, I thought I would put it to you all to see if it's worth the effort.

So, two questions, on in poll form. First, the poll.

Would you enjoy having a discord to chat with me and other fans of the novel more directly? I'd planned for it to be a general discord as well, to discuss whatever, just with a small focus on things like writing, haremlit, fantasy, etc., as well as a place to chit-chat for those that were looking for a space to do so. If I get 20 or more people that want to hang in a discord, I'll find someone to do it for me. Which brings me to my second question.

If you have knowledge of how to set up a discord server like what I want and would like to help me in doing so and save me whatever the price is to pay someone to do it, I'd love to have the assistance. DM me, and I'll add you on discord and we can figure all that out.

With all that out of the way, I expect to have the outline done this coming week. I also talked to the guy that runs TheQuiveringQuill.com, and he is ready to take on book 1 as soon as I send it to him. I'll keep you all posted on that, as well.

Comments

Important thing will be if more than 20 people are in the pro category.
