Reflections on The New Neighbors

Hey guys! So I'm just gonna ramble on a bit about my thoughts on The New Neighbors now that the comic is finished. First of all, I'm glad that so many of you enjoyed the finale, and a big thanks to those who offered constructive criticisms as well. A lot of you wanted to see an epilogue of where the characters end up, but I'd much rather leave that to the audience's imagination! As for an alternate, darker ending, (similar to the one I made for gold tier members for Emma's Corruption) I'm thinking that I prooobably won't do one of those for the New Neighbors, unfortunately, and here's why.

I always develop some sort of attachment to the character that I make, especially the cuter and more innocent ones. :3 The reason why I didn't have a problem with Emma from my last comic getting a darker treatment was because she started out as a horrible person. It's arguable that despite the bimbofication and corruption, Emma ended up as a better person than she was originally. That wouldn't be the case with Lily, and I don't know if I can bring myself to go too dark with Lily, I'm afraid.

I WILL make a character progression page for Lily for Silver tier members, so look forward to that!

Now, about The New Neighbors, I share the frustrations a lot of you have that a lot of the subplots went nowhere and were unfinished. That's a bad habit of mine that I definitely admit to. I did the same with Emma's Corruption, and it's just an itch that I have to introduce new characters and plot branches all the time. The New Neighbors was originally planned as a short comic with a fairly straightforward, simple plotline that involved barely any other characters than the original four. But 50 chapters later and here we are. I will do my best to curb such urges in the future.

Now, about the first person POV. If there are any of you who are a big fan of that, I'm sorry to tell you that in the future I will ABSOLUTELY not be doing that again. I didn't have a problem with it narratively, but artistically it was an absolute nightmare. The camera placement gave me no end of troubles and it definitely made some scenes less pleasing to the eye. I really didn't know what I was getting myself into when making the decision to make this comic from a first person pov and I'm very glad I don't have to do that anymore... In the future I might still do a first person pov from the narrative perspective, but no more FPOV from the camera's perspective. At best you might get some over-the-shoulder shots.

As for the new comic, Tales From Belmona, a lot of you were wondering how much corruption/sluttification will be incorporated in the story, and all I can spoil for now is that there's definitely one major branching storyline that will have many aspects of corruption. This is a big big story with a lot of worldbuilding, and really plays to my strengths of wanting to do a lot of storylines and characters. I AM going to try to keep myself focused by trying something new. I'll try to work on some very short side-vignettes of life in Belmona as part of the worldbuilding effort. Belmona is a country where sex-work is not only legal but a very normal job, and that's gotta have a lot of effects on the history, culture, and media of the country, so I will try to make very short scenes to reflect that. These may include something like a TV interview our main character might see where a famous Belmonan actress openly and casually discusses how since she became famous she's had to raise the price to see her for a night tenfold! Something along those lines. I will make these vignettes available to silver tier members.

Anyway, that's enough rambling from me for now! Thank you again for all your support and I hope to see you all in the comment sections of the new comic!

I understand that you're attached to Lilly and don’t want to show her in decline — I feel the same way. That’s a testament to how well you've written her. But I still don’t understand why we don’t get to see that the couple truly ended up in a good place after everything they went through. I wish you had shown that Lilly, despite her physical transformation, is still the same sweet, innocent girl at heart. What I always loved most was how well they complemented each other — he shouldered the stress and responsibility, while she remained carefree and light. But now, after the final chapters, it feels like Adam has become emotionally distant from her, and that leaves me with a lingering sense of unease.
