Bedrock Breaker

Weapon (heavy crossbow), very rare (requires attunement)

Forged from titanstone, bedrock, and living roots drawn from the Chamber Deep, this heavy crossbow embodies the traditional crafting technique of its people. Powered by paired titanstone orbs that rotate with gravitational force, each shot is propelled with crushing momentum and can be infused with elemental earth. When its enchanted bolts strike soil or stone, they erupt into jagged ridges that can seal tunnels or reinforce unstable passages in an instant.

The weapon was devised for the Stonesguard, protectors of the Chamber Deep’s underground settlements, as both a tool and a weapon. With it, they can collapse breaches or shape barriers from a distance, turning the battlefield itself into stoneworks of their design. Although ranged arms were once rare among the Chamber Deep, the dwindling number of earth elementalist masters has driven the community to rely on such creations, refining their traditional craft and enchantments into new forms to endure and survive.

You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon. On a hit, the target takes an extra 1d6 bludgeoning damage as the bolt is driven forward with crushing force.

Jagged Rise. The crossbow has 3 charges. When you make an attack with this weapon, you can expend 1 charge to replace that attack with an arrow infused with elemental earth. Instead of targeting a creature, you target a point of dirt, sand, or stone within the weapon’s normal range. When the arrow strikes, a jagged ridge of rock erupts in a straight line from that point in a direction you choose. The ridge is 10 feet long, 5 feet wide, and 10 feet high. Each creature in the line is pushed 5 feet to the nearest unoccupied space and must then make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw, taking 3d6 piercing damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one. On a failed save, a creature is also restrained by the stone. A restrained creature, or another creature within 5 feet of it, can use its action to make a Strength check against the DC, ending the restraint on a success. The ridge can rise from either horizontal or vertical surfaces and remains until destroyed. Each 10-foot section of the ridge has AC 15 and 20 hit points. 

The crossbow regains all expended charges daily at dawn.
