Render Farm

Wasup guys, been busy on some cool projects this weekend. So I've decided to extract the Patreon wallet that's been sitting for a while and put it to good use. I've purchased two 5080s that will be the workhorses for future projects 🔥🔥

One is installed on a server I spun up this weekend, and I intend to have both running on one machine in the future. First, I need to solve the problem of fitting two GPUs into one case. I don't want to buy another standard PC case as I have enough of those lying around. I do have an old Motherboard/cpu/ram that I "stole" . I could use that, and have 2 servers 2 GPUs. But I bought a power supply intending to power both GPUs on one system....
I've been thinking about getting a server rack for a while, and this may be my excuse to finally pull the trigger on that....

Regardless, this is good news. And honestly, better than I thought it was going to be. I'm using a software called Flamenco to manage distributing render task, and I can tell it's going to speed up the rendering workflow by a lot. Now that I have the other server setup as a render worker, I can continuously work on projects on my main windows computer and send render jobs to flamenco whenever I need to. It queues them automatically and stores all the files in my network storage. And if I want, I can attach my main computer as a worker for the night, to give it even more gpus to play with.

The end goal here is more throughput on animations. Especially the long ones.

Speaking of animations!

The bonus scene is 80% done. I'm currently rendering the new lighting I did today, but I have a render from Friday that you can view now. You can find it here on the preview mega. It's kinda ironic though. The new lighting is making the renders take much longer (4 + ish mins a frame vs my usual 1-2). Just in time to be rendered on the new hardware lol.

I just got the voice acting in from Ivi Wilds, and I like it, but I'm contemplating going in and animating the face/head to match the voice acting more. I'll have to make a decision on that tomorrow. I think it would improve the animation, so I'm leaning towards doing it. Issue is, it would over double the render time, because the animation would no longer loop after 10 seconds and I currently loop it 3 times with the audio to make 30 seconds. But hey, that's why I bought more GPUs, so it feels weird not to do it just for that reason ¯\(ツ)/¯.

Future Pricing Changes

Lastly, I'm planning on making some pricing changes to the memberships and will take affect when the RenamonXProffessor video is released publicly ( AKA When the bonus scene is finished). There are a few reasons I'm doing this. But it's mainly because I quit my job about a month ago and don't intend to search for new employment. I'm going all in on animations/NSFW content. I've taken precautions, and I'll be financially stable for a while, so don't worry, I'm not here begging for cash or anything. But I plan on putting more effort into this Patreon, and a small increase in the subscriptions now could do a lot in terms of financial stability later.
