As ever, please let us know if you spot any errors, this one was put together whilst going through a pretty stressful time in real-life (hence it being late) so we may have missed something and not noticed.
Also, we'll have a patreon exclusive video for you later in the week, something we're gonna try and make a monthly thing from now on :)

(A little late to the party, I know). Seeing that ancient battles book was a shock of nostalgia I didn't expect

2025-02-05 19:22:10 +0000 UTCNot really important for the vid, but just a bit of random trivia cos they got a mention - the Space Crusade dreadnoughts got names in the Mission Dreadnought expansion - the original one was the Mark VII Malevolent Class and the new lanky one with all the guns was the Mark X Abomination Class. There were two other types made by mixing the legs and carapace between the two (they both look very goofy)

2025-02-04 23:48:36 +0000 UTCThird edition was when I got into the game (left at the beginning of fifth), I think this was a really nice edition and I actually like the lean, to the point army books.

2025-02-04 21:03:28 +0000 UTCFair enough, Dirty Dozen is one of those films I always think of as iconic: I imagine everyone at least being aware of. I remember reading the last chancers book set in W40k and quite enjoying at least the first one.

2025-02-04 16:56:28 +0000 UTCWe were not insinuating they were based on the Suicide Squad, only using the similarity to make a reference to a terrible line from an astonishingly bad film lol Although, I'll be honest, I've never seen the Dirty Dozen so the the comparison would go over my head anyway. This is one of the things I don't like about covering anything about the guard, it's all military history and war film references and those are 2 things I don't really have much grounding in. Much more comfortable when it's sci-fi guff hah

2025-02-04 16:50:37 +0000 UTCGreat video as always looking into the reading material of my youth, just one small question - and I realise I've probably failed to get the joke, but please confirm that you know that the Last Chancers are a reference to the dirty dozen? I'm assuming the suicide squad reference was just a joke reference?

2025-02-04 16:37:22 +0000 UTCGreat stuff. And as someone who used this Codex to build an all-infantry army of Jungle Fighters using the then-new plastics to take to one of the GW GT's, it was real fun to mess around with. Plus that Dave Galalgher cover inspired my 3rd GT army, where I converted a bunch of the metal Cadians with lasgun barrels & magazines taken from the Jungle Fighters kit.... Oh happy memories :)
