It's Codex Eldar 2nd edition for me. I nearly bought a print of it at Warhammer World a few years ago, and didn't, and now you can't buy it anymore!

Not book cover art, but boxed game art, 'Doom of the Eldar' by Dave Gallagher, which I saw in a 'World of Hobby Games' free booklet, was instrumental in getting me into the hobby back in the 90's. There was something so awesome, terrifying and different about the Tyranid Warrior in the centre that just spoke to me. Yay, I'm in the credits of a Snipe and Wib Video :D

Not that BL novels donβt do anything for the setting, but the vibe and the feelings evoked by the artwork are definitely iconic. Itβs a horrible mix of fanaticism violence, religion and militarism all mixed together to make something truly unique. That is both subtle and over the top. Quintessentially 40K
