Let's talk With You and the Rain

Wow, I never thought an anime like this existed!

If you're tired of romance anime that always talk about masculinity, femininity, or just push characters into intimate relationships, I highly recommend this one. The best part? It's even available on YouTube.

This anime is full of metaphors and romantic themes, but it doesn't treat couples as just "masculine" or "feminine" objects. The idea of "love" here is so much deeper. If you're not sure what I mean, just look at Sakuta and Mai in the newest season (when they start university). You don't need to treat your partner like a queen or a king, you don't need a huge bouquet of flowers to win their love or attention, and you don't have to show off or be overly dramatic if you're in a loving relationship.

As long as there's peace between you, and your friends, parents, and family are happy with your partner, that's more than enough blessing to carry you through life, even into old age.

Hypothesis:

A girl had her heart broken in the setting she loved the most. Because of this, she felt forced to let go of the love she nurtured all through high school to a stranger, making her believe she didn't need love anymore. But then, a new meeting happens, and she slowly opens her heart again to a new love, where they both learn to understand and complete each other.

A little guide to the metaphors:

Why I can be sure that the tanuki is some kind of metaphor and not a real animal is because every scene or camera angle chosen always provides an empty space. Strangely, these angles are not used when the tanuki is not in the scene.

The Umbrella = Love

The Tanuki = A partner, child, friend, advisor, soulmate

Cutting Her Hair = A Broken Heart
