One of the most requested things that patrons have told me they would like to see is more behind-the-scenes stuff. I plan on sharing audio/video of how I record the show in the future, but today I wanted to show you something different that is truly awful. It's also something that say got me excited. See the video above.
I love doing the podcast and I hope to do it until I die at the ripe old age of 45. That being said, I miss experimenting with different formats / technology. Right before I launched the podcast back in 2004, I was making ridiculous videos on the site. As the podcast got longer and started taking up more of my time, that kind of content slowed down. Plus, staying up for 24 hours straight to edit a video sounds like pure torture now.
I ran across a cool Youtube channel of a dude who figured out this really weird type of animation and he made a tutorial to show how to make it. The whole time I was watching it I got more and more excited thinking about how I could possibly integrate it into the world of DV. You can finally see an episode of LeAnn Paisley Howell's Simple Living, or check out what Satan's doing in Hell, or see a clip of Tranny And The Asian... etc etc.
So, I'm learning how to do it. Kind of. Just the bare minimum basics, right now. I'm nowhere near good enough to actually post this stuff. It's actually quite embarrassing. But it's working just enough to make me want to continue to learn this and mess around. I'll continue to post my little DV animation tests here and hopefully it'll become something someday.
Check out Joel Haver's video tutorial if you're interested in learning the technique.
