While Ren'py has (had?) its uses, being a very convenient engine to create simple visual novels with none to basic animations, our games never were "simple" novels.
As many of you have witnessed over the years, we have always added complex minigames and advanced animations that pushed Ren'py to its limits, while forcing us to constantly struggle with its limitations.
For this reason, we have decided to switch to Unity as our engine of choice for our current and future projects.
Unity is somewhat infamous among players due to the countless low quality games that have been made on it by hobbyists, but in fact it's one of the best engines for 2D games ( provided the developer knows what he's doing).
Compared to Renpy, it features:
We are currently busy porting Windolls early prototype to Unity, and at the same time we are wrapping new content for it, consisting of more customization for the girls and gameplay improvements, which we will show in the next update.
Thanks for your support!
