RIP Marshall Lannes

Thanks for taking the time to go into detail about Lannes' and Napoleon's friendship, I think these personal stories are both very important and really interesting. Great work!!

The research and insight into Napoleon's personal life is remarkable and unique to this show, thank you! It's also cool to hear about Eugene and his early misadventures!

Mr Rummage in a italian campaign episode: " I plan to go in the details only for this campaign", Mr Rummage now: "you thought that after Aspern-Essling comes Wagram, no no, let's better dive-in in some minor part of this campaign". Thank you for it!

Great episode. Enjoyed listening to the lesser campaigns in Poland and Italy.

Great episode as always

After the loss of his comrade and best friend, I guess you could say he was… Napoalone Lonerpart (sorry, couldn’t resist… just like how the French Army couldn’t resist the Austrians at Aspern-Essling). In all seriousness, great episode. Out of all the wars in the Napoleonic Wars, I feel that this one most resembles the grinding nature of what was to come about a century later. Multiple theaters, the difficulty of obtaining a decisive victory that translates on a strategic level, nationalism, and attrition are all present here. The question is not whether another Austerlitz can be achieved, but which side has the political and material backbone to outlast their opponent. Even though the War of the Sixth Coalition had the largest battle in Leipzig, it more resembles the beatdown of a half-dead foe, even if it was still very difficult.

These keep getting better and better

Hearing the passing of Marshal Lannes and loss of a best friend almost brings tears to the eyes.

I find the death of Lannes to be the saddest brilliant episode as always.
