This match legit put me to sleep lol. I never got the hype for Luke Harper/Brodie Lee. I never thought the guy was all that special. Good wrestler, that was it though.

2025-10-03 01:44:26 +0000 UTCThere is a reason why Cody was considered a top guy in AEW but was holding a secondary belt. I’m not going to say why because it spoils something that I’m sure someone will want to submit for you, especially after you asked the question you asked in the video, but there is a good reason for it. Yes, he was considered a top guy, if not the top guy at the start of AEW. I would honestly say for the first almost year of AEW, he was the most popular wrestler in the company, even ahead of someone like Kenny Omega, which even though I always loved Cody, though he wasn’t my favorite wrestler at the time, but he is now, it was still surprising to me because I just figured AEW‘s hard-core audience, though that audience had grown to love Cody immensely, would be so hyped and behind Kenny for being the big star that he was in Japan and getting his shot on the western stage. really it all comes down to Cody‘s outstanding promo work during this time period, not to mention his, ironically enough, very anti-WWE attitude, really he was more anti-WWE than anybody.
