A bit late, but the dive outside AJ did is a technique invented by Richard Fosbury in high jumping, hence the 'Fosbury Flop'.

2025-09-14 13:12:36 +0000 UTCSamoa Joe is one of my all time favourite wrestlers. In the same generation as Punk, Danielson, AJ despite being beloved he still just feels like the unsung one. Simply put, and I have grown to sorta hate this phrase, but he just had Aura, especially in ROH, he felt dangerous and like an attraction. It’s insane that within the years 2004-6 he was having company (id argue era) defining title reigns in ROH with his legendary ROH world title reign, the rivalry with punk, the rivalry with Homocide, AJ and Daniels. He moved like a man half his size, his strikes felt painful and his physical charisma is awesome. Also, at such a relatively early stage of his career he was able to not only wrestle absolute Legends like Kenta Kobashi, Kurt Angle and Mitsuharu Misawa, be he was actually hanging in there and looked just as good and he belonged. Of course, 20 some years later with tons of injures and other wear and tear, Joe isn’t how he is in the Early 2000’s but he’s still beloved today because of his legacy. I love Joe to bits and his matches with Punk and Kobashi are some of my all time favourite matches of all time (Joe vs Punk 2 is my second favourite match of all time)
