Backlash 2000 is the “real” Wrestlemania of 2000 since that show such a letdown. They made it up the next month in spades. This was indeed as you said, a fun time. The “old refs” were Pat Patterson, the first IC champ in 1979 and Gerald Brisco, more known for wrestling in NWA. Patterson was very well known for coming up with finishes back then and he also is credited for inventing the Royal Rumble.

2025-08-26 02:10:16 +0000 UTCSo tbf Steph wasn't on TV until she was of age I'm pretty sure In 1993 she was like 17 and I don't remember hearing a story of her ever being on TV then because Vince wasn't even known to be the real owner of the company to most people atp he was just a Commentator I do remember an urban myth that the reason Vince hated Macho Man so much was because he "slept with" Steph when she was 17 Which goes up there in urban myths such as Vince replacing the Ultimate Warrior because he died during a vacation he had💀
