My Little Pony S4 EP 16-17

on regards to the breezies episode FINALLY you noticed it...well once didn't the 2nd time but that is a big part of season 4 can you guess the other 3 times (not including this ep) it was shown? oh and you still haven't noticed discord but it's ok flutters has and they are enjoying each others company. as for the last episode yeah AJ was a complete L it's fine to care for a sibling but good lord don't treat them like a baby. also now I am fully caught up and can watch semi live with you (don't have twitch)

Okay now for the second ep....this one... this one deserves WAY more flak then the last one gets. Applejack was just.... poor girl was getting brain damage from all the Idiot Balls the writers crammed down her throat. This is the sort of ep that I most feel disappointed in. Sometimes, the ep is just a huge mess where you can tell no one was really happy with it and, it's just got issues all around, like Games Ponies Play. This one? It had a good, solid core story, that just got messed up in ways that it would have only taken a few small tweaks to fix. First, tone down just how over the top coddling AJ was, and also make it be a bit more justified by having her come in and have AB actually hurt in some minor way... or at least walk into a situation where you can easily accept she thought AB was more seriously hurt then she was. Give her some reason for freaking out like that. As is? Applejack is just..... unbearable and acting like an idiot. That said, ep does have some good points...... as dumb as the reason is, I do love the helmet on a helmet gag. We get more evidence that the show is embracing the idea that all song numbers are actually happening in rel time in 'verse. "How does Applebloom sleep?" "Like she does everything, with sass!" Plus the whole Fire Swamp scene..... pity there are no ROUSes there... the Chimera being a wonderful addition to the world,and AJ's epicly badass entrance. Also we got Pony Bayou country..... not sure if that is a good or bad thing... Speaking of the Chimera, as you noted, it's not an uncommon term. The original Chimera was a specific creature from Greek mythology, fairly close to what we saw, except part lion instead of part tiger...and at least one of it's heads, if not all three could breath fire. But the word has since come to be used for pretty much to refer to any type of multiple animal hybrid. So an overall weak ep.... but with a few good points.

No episode 15? So first ep, and yeah..... for some reason that one has a rep as being 'bad' that I do not get. Yeah a lot of the more seen as bad eps have good reason for them this one..... yeah I really don't get the issues people have with it. Biggest one seems to be just, general annoyance at the Breezies acting like a bunch of freeloaders mooching off Fluttershy and not caring that they were about to be cut off from their home for who know how long. Which fair point, they are being either dicks, or kind of idiots... but that's kind of the point and I blame that on the Breezies not the episode. Speaking of the breezies, what are they? They are the Gen 4 version of Gen 1 MLP's Flutterponies. So another nice call back to classic MLP things. Wonder if we might get more of those soon..... On top of not getting the hate for this ep, I love the lesson and it's a really nice one that goes with the show having more mature, nuanced lessons, and while it can be really hard to do a good "cruel to be kind" type moral, this balanced it perfectly by making Fluttershy be firm, direct, but not an asshole about it. We also got the Mane 6 Breezies that...also get a lot of flak for some reason.. biggest one I've seen was people bitching about them just being forced in to sell toys when..... okay first off, that's the entire show... secondly.... of all the things to be upset over for that reason..... kind of hard to say that's true when there wasn't any Breezie Mane 6 toys pushed. So.... WTF people? We also get a nice little nod to Doctor Whooves, with the Doc seen walking through the woods wearing the 3D glasses that though only used in one two part episode of the show, are kind of iconic to the Tenth Doctor, which is the one Doc looks like, and him doing so while in the company of "Rose"luck. Yeah, they knew exactly what they were doing. So yeah, an ep that gets alot of flak that I don't get, with a really great moral that it handled well.
