and we get another musical episode and it's great. fave is by far the birthday one I listen that on my birthday all the time and even replay it when it comes up on my playlist, pinkie's lament is good to but always makes me sad till the end of it. also surprised you haven't noticed it yet well neither of them yet. ones been going for 12 episodes so far and the others popped up 3 times so far (more then that but 3 episodes) not gonna say what the 2 things are just gonna see if you catch them

Even more fun is how the whole thing got set up, started with Bronies, being Bronies and Ponyfying ALL the things! In this case, making PMV's of Weird Al Songs, which Al saw and tweeted about, which got a reply tweet from some of the show staff asking him if he wanted a role on the show. It's actually, kind of interesting how many celebrity cameo's happened that way. In this case, it helped that he was already doing voice work for Hasbro over on Transformers, so it wasn't that hard to get him to do an ep of another Hasbro show. Then we get to the meat of the ep and..... this is pretty much a perfect character study of Pinkie Pie. All she truly wants to do is make Ponies smile, but she also has trouble communicating clearly at times, as well as some pretty heavy codependency issues. But, at the same time, while she can drive herself into a funk just with her own inner worries, she's also quick to bounce back when reminded things aren't that bad. Damn I love Pinkie's Lament... Also, I love that there really is no bad guy this ep, Cheese wasn't being malicious, he just wanted to show off his party planning skills to the Pony who inspired him, but because of her own issues she took it the wrong way, but everything worked out in the end. So trivia.... a lot of people were confused at the whole "I never did get that Pony's name" line at the end, it's another of many, many little references to classic Westerns throughout this episode. The entire vibe of things, opening in Aaaaaaaaaplloosa, "3:10 to goof off" being a reference to the more modern Western 3:10 to Yuma, etc... In this case, it was playing on the old classic Sergio Leonie "The Man With No Name" trilogy staring Clint Eastwood. Also, this ep continues the season 4 "Spot the hidden alicorn" game, with Rarity of all Ponies sporting a set of wings briefly during the final dance party number. An amazing episode that used it's guest well and had so, so, so damn many amazing songs... it's one of the best of the season, and even ranks pretty damn high for best of the series for damn good reasons.
