I lied 😬

Turns out I was wrong in the post-credits of my previous video. My next video is *also* gonna be a super long one. I've got about 75% of it shot, and about 80% of the edit finished. Should be a pretty interesting video, definitely some new territory for me, but I think I'm doing a good job. Here are some WIP screenshots ☺️

I really hope to avoid getting into a trend of making hour+ long videos over and over. Turns out I've had a *lot* of things to say lately. Either way, I appreciate the hell out of y'all's patience πŸ™ I'm *pretty sure* I'll be able to make the next video relatively quickly, and I'm also *pretty sure* I can have this one finished by the end of the month. Sorry about all the waiting lately ❀️

For some more general updates, I've been doing some upgrading. I've got a gimbal now, so I've unlocked a whole new dimension of movement I can add to my videos. Basically, a new set of visual tools I can use to communicate my themes and moods. I've also been doing some learning about color science, and how I can use all of those intimidating graphs to ensure that my videos look how I want them to on a wide range of devices, instead of just color grading for *my* screens. That said, I think my next video, after this one, is going to be in black and white. Black and white will be a great way to showcase a new, much sharper lens that I'm about to be getting, but I also feel like it'll be fantastic training for me when it comes to blocking -and especially lighting- my shots. It'll also be more traditional "emotional journey where I learn a lesson" type video, so I should be right at home when it comes to writing.

This video I'm working on now isn't going to be as much of a "level up" for me as the Tyler video was, but more of me getting my fundamentals up to snuff, and experimenting with my format a bit. More daytime shooting, which is an entirely different skill set to nighttime shooting. More locations. Less five-ten minute spans without a single camera angle change. (Although I will say that the writing in this video is definitely a bit maximalist and probably could've been trimmed down a bit). I expect the black and white video to be a true "level up" for me though. As always, I want my videos to look like movies. I'm not there yet, but I'm getting closer with every project. I can *feel* myself being on the cusp of some sort of great change in my creative process and abilities. Something tells me that 2026 will be an incredible year for my work. Just gotta polish out a few kinks in my production methods, and I'll be able to start pushing myself *creatively*, and focus less on pushing myself *technically*.

A thousand thank you's to you all for giving me the opportunity to take my time, and work on becoming a better creator. So many people in my line of work are forced to find a comfortable status-quo, and sit there until they, and the audience, grow sick of the formulaity, at which point they're thrown out of their comfort zone. You all have allowed me to work *without* a comfort zone, and because of that, I can *always* be growing, and developing, and getting better.

Last thing I wanna add: I'm gonna try to use Patreon a bit more. Treat it like a blog or something, so that I can showcase my growth and all that. I'd also be interested to know if *you guys* would be interested in more behind the scenes kind of stuff. I don't want to let it interfere with my normal workflow, as vertigo makes shooting enough of a challenge already, but maybe I could shoot some quick little videos when I'm not working, just talking about the lessons I'm learning about filmmaking for anyone else who's walking a similar path to me. Thoughts?

I love you all, and I actually mean that, not in a parasocial way, but in a solidarity way. I'll see you soon ❀️

It's so rad to see someone being granted the creative freedom they're looking for. Can't wait to see what you've got when you're ready to show it. <3
