An overdue update about the next video

Hey guys. First off, sorry that there hasn't been any word from me here. I've been doing a decent job of communicating my situation over discord and bluesky, but I should've made a Patreon post about things right now. I'm currently dealing with an abusive situation, and while I've *nearly* finally gotten them away from myself and my family, this situation has been like... A fire that needs to be put out again every single night. It's been going on like this for like 6 months now, but things really came to ahead in January.

My next video was *intended* to be the first *proper* episode of Torment: Session 2, however after much reflection, I feel like the whole concept of TS2 was ill-concieved. Not because it wasn't a compelling story I was planning, or because I didn't think I'd be able to execute on it to my satisfaction, but just because Torment Session 2, as a dramatic series, doesn't allow for the intimate feeling of a one-on-one conversation that I aim for with my videos. As many things as I wanted to say with TS2, I'd rather just say those things *directly* to you all, rather than leave my messages to lonely inference on the audience's part. I'll probably do a little side video as a kind of post-mortem for TS2 in the future.

So, whats come next instead? Well, initially I had written a video about Factorio, and how painfully temporary it's ability to take me away from this awful situation was. It's a good script, I'm almost definitely still going to make it, but one night, inspiration just struck in a very particular way for me.

I'd been hoping to do a video on Tyler The Creator's fifth album, Cherry Bomb, for years now. It's my favorite album of all time. I anticipated making this video in much the same way I did my original MGS2 video, "I can't wait until I'm talented enough to make this one". Well, upon some reflection, I'm absolutely ready to make not just a video on Cherry Bomb, but a video on Tyler's entire discography. I wrote up a 49 page script, so the final video should be about 1:40 long. Long story short, I found about a million ways to use Tyler's music to reflect on the abusive situation I'm in, and those are my absolute favorite types of videos I make. I've already begun shooting and editing, going through one album at a time. I've already shot the sections for Cherry Bomb and Flower Boy.

Cherry Bomb is all edited up and ready to be slotted into the final video, but I haven't even begun the Flower Boy edit. My plan is to release the Flower Boy chapter as a Patreon exclusive sneak peek. I think it's the best chapter to stand on its own, *and* to build anticipation for the full video. I normally don't like showing off unfinished work, but with how long it's been since my last upload, I really feel like I owe you all an apology, or at least something to watch 😅

Only issue is, my wife and I have kind of been pushed to taking shelter outside of our home for the time being. It'll only be a few weeks, and I'll see if I can get my computer here, but in the meantime, I've got extremely limited access to tech, and no real way to edit. Luckily there's still enough shooting to do that I can be productive, but that *will* unfortunately stop me from getting the Flower Boy chapter edited and uploaded to you all as quickly as I'd like.

Attached are a few screenshots though (sorry I don't have more to show you, I'm stuck with my phone ofc) Feeling *extremely* good about this video, and like I'm executing on a *lot* of the goals I layed out in my 2024 recap video.
