Destiny – Einführung | Introduction

„Literarisch ist es um Deutschlands Lieblingsautorin Paula Gerz still geworden. Knapp vier Jahre nach Veröffentlichung des letzten Teils ihrer unschlagbar erfolgreichen Romanreihe „Destiny“ scheint das Schicksal es mit der Schöpferin der beliebten Hauptfigur, einer heldenhaften Zeitreisenden, nicht gut zu meinen. Nach mehreren gescheiterten Beziehungsanläufen soll nun auch ihre aktuelle Liaison mit dem Pop-Produzenten Laslo Petrusz vorbei sein. In Folge eines heftigen Streits beim Italiener gingen die beiden getrennte Wege.
Aus dem privaten Umfeld der Autorin haben wir erfahren, dass Paula sich für eine Weile aus der Öffentlichkeit zurückziehen will, mutmaßlich, um sich einem neuen Buchprojekt zu widmen.
Ein weiterer Romanerfolg wäre der toughen Schriftstellerin nur zu gönnen – und ihrer Fangemeinde ebenso. Laut einer Umfrage bei deutschen LeserInnen im Alter von 30-60 hat „Destiny“ sich nicht nur einen Platz in ihren Bücherregalen, sondern vor allem in ihren Herzen gesichert. Als Werbegesicht für Fanartikel im Zusammenhang mit der Buchreihe – einem beeindruckenden Sortiment von Bekleidung bis hin zu Kochbüchern und -utensilien – ist Paula in den Medien noch immer omnipräsent. Doch liegt hierin auch ihre berufliche Erfüllung? Privat zumindest scheint definitiv noch Luft nach oben zu sein.
Im vierten und letzten Teil der „Destiny“-Reihe findet die Protagonistin ihr Glück in der Zukunft – dies wünschen wir auch Paula Gerz.“

Currently, fate does not seem to be on the side of Paula, the creator of the popular main character, a heroic time traveler. After several failed attempts at a relationship, her current liaison with pop producer Laslo Petrusz is now also said to be over. As a result of a heated argument at an Italian restaurant, the two went their separate ways. 

We have learned from the author's private circle that Paula wants to withdraw from the public eye for a while, presumably to devote herself to a new book project. 

The tough writer would be well served by another successful novel - and by her fan base as well. According to a survey of German readers aged 30-60, "Destiny" has not only secured a place on their bookshelves, but above all in their hearts. Author Paula Gerz is also the advertising face for fan merchandise related to the book series, which includes an impressive assortment ranging from clothing to cookbooks and cooking utensils. As a result, Paula is still omnipresent in the media. But is this also her professional fulfillment? Privately, at least, there definitely seems to be room for improvement.
