NEW SERVER!
Added 2018-04-21 13:51:30 +0000 UTCSo, it's finally happened.
We have a new server.
BUT! We are not currently on it yet, simply because it's going to take some downtime to transition everything over and test. I'm in the process of doing some configuration checks, copying files over, local testing, etc.
Upon completion of my local testing, the site will be brought down (stay tuned for the forum post for maintenance!). During the planned maintenance window, I'll be moving all of the data from TFGS over to the new server and then that will be the main go-to.
For context, we are currently running on aged hardware from ~2009-2010 from back when I took over in 2011. While the current server has aged well and been able to keep up with the demand (mostly), it's time we get to something more modern and far more powerful. Old server is also a power hungry beast, since it is an actual blade server.
The new server is shiny, has lots of storage, is connected to a local network storage NAS for local backups, and has access to an online cloud NAS account for online backups.
Old Server:
IBM iDataPlex 340DX server
16GB PC2-5300 ECC RAM
2x Intel Xeon L5410 2.33GHZ (4 cores each)
500gig SSD Boot Drive
1TB HDD Storage Drive
New Server:
Custom build (by me!)
32GB DDR4 PC4-19200 (will soon be doubled to 64)
Intel Core i7-8700K 3.7 GHz (6 physical cores, 6 logical cores)
512gb Enterprise SSD Boot Drive
2x 5TB HDD Storage Drives
So yeah. New server is a beast. It's also not my final build for the server, either. This is a stop gap while I save up for a true powerhouse beast of a server. :)
Now the question is what to do with the old power hungry machines...

2018-08-21 13:18:18 +0000 UTCSorry I couldn't get back to you sooner but it has been busy the past week. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to help me, so i can be part of the community. I really appreciate it. I will definitly consider backing you, once I've sorted out my financial situation, but right now there is just so much going on.

2018-06-12 18:39:17 +0000 UTCGMX has been bouncing our emails. This is why you have not received them. However, I've manually activated your account.

2018-06-03 12:36:13 +0000 UTCHey I really like the site and enjoy it very much. Therefore it'ยด`s even more frustrating that i'm not able to log into my account. I've never received an activation E-mail and when i try to contact a Board Administrator it just says "The board administrator contact page has been disabled." I just want to know how i can get my account to work. So if you can help me i would be very grateful , but even if not i still will be because the site is awesome and your dedication is remarkable. Keep it up!

2018-06-03 05:52:23 +0000 UTCIt depends on the game. Some games require image packs and additional steps. Please make a post in the forums regarding any issues you might have.

2018-05-25 02:18:33 +0000 UTCHello, I'm not sure if I did something wrong, but I went to the TFgames site and downloaded the game but no images are available. Do I need to go to a specific link or am I looking in the wrong place?

2018-04-21 22:38:21 +0000 UTCGlad to hear about the tech update! Needless to say, with the old machines: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! There's got to be someone or something that would find a lot of use with the old box.
