Bigger Impact: Eleanor or Dagmar? [Slight Spoilers for V.018]
Added 2024-12-30 07:07:13 +0000 UTCI'm planning for the conclusion of Chapter 1 and I've got things in mind that can be filled by one of these two characters. While this poll isn't excluding either from getting more content, the winner will get more and far more impactful additions.
Thus my question to you, who would you rather see more of? Eleanor or Dagmar?

2024-12-31 01:58:17 +0000 UTCAgreed, and call me a nolife too because I wouldn't mind doing everything over again in a new engine either, but I'm fine with Katar's idea of making just a second game that picks up from where the first one does at chapter 1. But as I mentioned above I believe that doing it by turning the entirety of player choices into hash would be a more organic and "fair to the choices" way of handling it, because one thing I always disliked with games like The Witcher and Mass Effect was that going with a questionaire missed some minute choices and had me go "but that's not what I did though?", and if my choices didn't matter or carry over I'd go "So all those things I bothered to do didn't even matter uh". And you can't just shove EVERY choice from chapter 1 in a questionnaire, it'd be silly, it'd have to squeeze things like "did you turn Alba into a slave" lol. Also I think Katar wanted to make the engine switch be also a pick up from chapter 1 exactly so they don't have to redo the entirety of the game from scratch in that new engine.

2024-12-30 22:15:36 +0000 UTCOH MAN this is a hard choice. Have not voted yet but their is just so much good content for both characters. I want to learn how Dogmar the donkey was given false orders with the duke's handwriting that caused her to rebel against the nation she once fought so hard for. Oh but on the other, love the thought of Katerina meeting her own mother as the previous duke's assistant. Will she be as much as a bitch as Katerina suggests? What is her role in the politics of the court? Oh, both stories for these two characters are fascinating to explore.

2024-12-30 20:54:14 +0000 UTCThis is me being a person with no life but am okay with Katar just having everyone need to do a restart of the game from the beginning. First, he is likely changing a lot of variables in the game. From how much you eat in Greenbrook to how combat will work with a grid system. Meaning, their is a lot of content players who just jump in at the end of Chapter 1 will miss out on. Second, the campaign is not that long. I completed the game in under 5 hours. Hardly the marathon of a Civilization game.

2024-12-30 20:50:44 +0000 UTCRandom question but, since you're approaching the end of chapter 1 and mentioned you're planning to switch engine for chapter 2, and given the current content of chapter 1 and variables I'm seeing, I was remembering a questionnaire being mentioned for transferring the content from Chapter 1 a la Mass Effect, but given the current number of variables, wouldn't it be easier to just generate a hash from all the boxes being ticked in the current version, and make a sort of, code to transfer into Chapter 2, Golden Sun style? By just adding the different variables through numbers for survival/time of survival and situations for example til when did Harper survive / When did he get eaten/ by whom / his relation with Hazel and make it a code like 3b3 then add it to other variables of the game through addition into a hash you can just copy/paste into the next chapter? Then you could both have a "mass effect/ witcher" style questionnaire AND a proper detailed save transfer that retain every detail and choices of the player through a hash password and ask them which one they'd prefer to use. I'm also pretty sure I've seen some RPGmakerMV hash function algorythms generators floating around that can just do that for you using all the variables in a save that you could just unpack into the same variables in another engine.
