April Patreon Reward: April Foolery
Added 2025-04-01 15:00:09 +0000 UTCHello Patreons!
Today is April the First, and consequently there's a lot of fake news about! (Or is that just a tradition in British newspapers?). Anyhoo we bring you a special sudoku hunt where you can't trust everything you see.
What you CAN trust, though, is the very special prize created by Emily Williams, long-time friend of the channel and craftswoman. You can see the sudoku cushion cover she has made on the front of the pack, in the PDF attached to this post, and you can win it for yourself ... IF you get all the puzzles right, send in an entry (to https://tinyurl.com/AprilFoolage ) by 4pm UK time on the 20th of April, and get drawn out of the hat as the winner!
Now, every puzzle in the pack has one single bogus clue that must be ignored to solve the puzzle, except the last puzzle which is made up of all the bogus clues extracted from the first nine puzzles! The bogus clue is never a given digit in the grid.
If you get stuck, remember there are often some very helpful people on the patreon-chat channel on the CtC Discord server - it might be worth popping over there. Links to play the puzzles are provided under each grid in the pack, and you will need to access the final puzzle online to get the solution code to enter the competition.
Good luck, and enjoy the puzzles!

Well, May Fools to me. I was too busy in April to work on the challenge. I finished all 9 of the April Fools puzzles, but the link to "Nothing Bogus About this." is broken, so I can't try the final cumulative puzzle. Too bad, I like finishing the packs even when it's too late to enter.

2025-04-18 19:56:40 +0000 UTCI misread one of the letters in the solutions (Didn't copy & paste them): The seventh character is not a nine.

2025-04-17 11:45:25 +0000 UTCSum Lines and the final puzzle were brutal. Tried my hardest to avoid bifurcating but I gave in and bifurcated for both of them

2025-04-15 02:07:28 +0000 UTCThe April Sum Lines is so hard that I cannot solve it, not even with extensive bifurcation. Glad to know it is solvable.

2025-04-07 16:11:29 +0000 UTCI think that I spent double the time on region sum lines puzzle than on all of the other puzzles combined! The final puzzle was a very nice one and a Kropki puzzle was also very pleasing. Region sum lines puzzles was easily among the hardest puzzles I’ve ever solved but that may be to the ‘Simon way’ of solving it, I may have missed some easy intended logic early on, so had to meticulously go the hard way. Other than that - amazing puzzle set with several hours of pure joy, I liked it a lot. Please keep these puzzle hunts going! And take a bow for all of the things that you do to the community, we do appreciate it very much!

2025-04-05 23:57:52 +0000 UTCSet up discord now, which is its own puzzle hunt. Y'all may see me on later looking for help.

2025-04-03 16:45:34 +0000 UTCOuch. After quickly identifying the liar cell in the first puzzle, I'm pretty much stuck. This is feeling like the LOTR puzzle set again. Normally I get at least a few puzzles. (Don't have discord so I can't see the help chat)
