Hi Ewen, I have thought hard about this and canvassed other Patreons, and I'm afraid there was a strong consensus for continuing to post the Connections videos and posts on a four-day frequency. Apparently (several people suggested) you can set an email filter to dismiss emails with "Connections" in the title, so they will not bother you - I am happy to undertake to always include the word, Mark

2024-09-13 10:25:47 +0000 UTCI'm happy with the bite-sized content but I concur with maybe having "Connections" always in the post title so if there are people who prefer to filter them out, they can. I was hoping Patreon would have a robust system for handling subscriptions to specific creator tags or something to help handle such an issue, but it seems that there's no such luck. Regardless, thanks for the entertaining connections videos!

2024-09-10 19:46:14 +0000 UTCI am happy with the notifications myself, and I like connections, but Ewen do bring up a very good point. If the title of the post always contained the same code word for the same type of content people can easily build email filters and thus be able to control what they see themselves. They can still contain an "entertaining" title, just always make sure to put "Connections" at the beginning/end, and same could be done for other regular content, using a different matchword. I've never felt annoyed by the CtC notifications myself, but I certainly know the feeling from certain other creators I support.

2024-09-04 19:38:32 +0000 UTCYou can spare the condescension. Not everyone is perpetually online, checking feeds constantly. If you don't like the Connections notifications, you could always just set up an email filter to automatically delete them.

2024-09-03 22:13:31 +0000 UTCFor certainty all I’m asking for is they go into some separate feed, so it’s opt in (or at least possible to reliably automatically file away. Currently they’re frequent, not possible to opt into separately, and difficult to automatically file away or even manually skip over for those not interested. Ewen

2024-09-03 20:45:05 +0000 UTCSince I see there”s a mix of opinions here, with some people apparently dependent on constant Patreon notifications to know 4 days have elapsed and there’s yet another video out, could I suggest at least: Use a *consistent* notification format so it’s possible to write a reliable email filter to auto-file these (unwanted) notifications (The “made you look” creative notification subjects and wording are difficult to reliable automatically match, or even manually skip based on the subject line; the post I replied to has a subject line especially vague as to what it is about to “make you look”.) Perhaps “New York Times Connections Solves for days …” on *every* post. Ewen

2024-09-03 20:39:46 +0000 UTCI disagree. I like the Connections videos and want to see the notifications. I wouldn't be able to get just Connections notifications via a YouTube playlist, and I don't need notifications for every CtC upload on YouTube. The upload schedule for these isn't always consistent so it would be very easy to miss one without notifications.

2024-09-03 17:21:15 +0000 UTCStrong disagree with Ewen there - I love these videos and it always puts a spring in my step when I get a notification that a new one has been posted. (But can see that a separate feed could work for those who feel like me, assuming that's feasible.)

2024-09-03 12:50:51 +0000 UTCCould you maybe consider posting these repetitive “four days of Connections” somewhere else that those who are interested can subscribe to separately (an unlisted YouTube playlist?) rather than spamming Patreon notifications every few days with “four more”? (I for one am not interested, and am finding the volume of additional Patreon notifications being generated — around 2 per week it seems — to be a bit frustrating for what used to be a 2-4 notifications a month subscription.)
